How a case moves from first report to documented outcome

Seven stages, each with a clear owner. Outcomes and timelines depend on the platform, the evidence, the applicable rules and the circumstances of the case; we do not imply that every report will succeed.

  1. 1

Content or brand infringement is identified

You find a copy, a counterfeit, a fake account or a review that breaks the rules, or a monitoring check surfaces it. A case is created with a reference number such as DDMCA-2026-00041.

  2. 2

    Evidence is collected

Infringing URLs, your originals, ownership documents and context go into the private evidence library. We capture timestamped screenshots and archived copies, and build comparison sheets.

  3. 3

    The case is reviewed

We confirm the rights involved, identify the parties behind each URL (host, registrar, CDN, payment provider, platform) and match each item to a legal basis or platform policy. If something has a weak basis, we say so here.

  4. 4

A report or notice is prepared

Notices and complaints are drafted for the specific recipient, with every required element and the evidence pack attached. You approve the report before it goes out.

Case: Report prepared → Awaiting client approval
  5. 5

The relevant platform or provider is contacted

The report is submitted through the correct channel: a platform IP form, a designated DMCA agent, a registrar or host abuse desk, or a search engine. Submission is recorded on the timeline only when it actually happens.

    Portal status
Case: Submitted to platform → Awaiting platform response
  6. 6

    The case is tracked

Responses, requests for more information and counter-notices are recorded. URLs are re-checked and results verified from clean sessions. You are notified of every change.

Case: Awaiting platform response / Additional information required
  7. 7

    The outcome is documented

The platform or provider's decision is logged with dates and evidence. Resolved cases move to monitoring where relaunches are likely; rejected items get an explanation and next-step options.

Handling time is not platform time

Our handling time covers investigation, evidence, drafting and filing. Platform time is how long the receiving platform or provider takes to decide, which we do not control. Both are visible on the timeline so you always know which clock is running.

On timelines and outcomes
Typical ranges from casework are shown in assessments as estimates. Platforms change their processes without notice, workloads vary, and some requests receive no response at all. We record what actually happened, with dates, rather than promising what will happen.
